No teams with completed results are tied on wins. Total wins alone determines the current order.

Why tied teams are in this order
TIS Tigers / HBJ Lions: 4 wins each
Head-to-head: two teams remain
TIS Tigers: 1; HBJ Lions: 0.
Higher values place first. Equal values continue to the next stage; comparisons stop once the order is resolved. These are the stages actually used by the standings calculation.
IST Dragons / SIS Geckos: 3 wins each
Head-to-head: two teams remain
IST Dragons: 1; SIS Geckos: 0.

Full placement rules and process
- Boys and Girls are calculated separately. Only completed Pool Play, Round Robin or Group matches count toward round-robin standings, matrix rankings and calculated playoff seeds. In-progress matches and playoff or placement matches are excluded.
- One shared calculation now drives public standings, coach matrices, standings signage, the bracket standings sidebar and the calculated seed reference.
- Set wins are derived from numeric scores where available, otherwise from recorded set winners. The team with more sets wins; a valid saved match winner is the fallback if set totals tie. Missing winner IDs therefore do not erase a win supported by the set scores.
- Completed matches with no determinable winner do not count until corrected. Missing rally-point scores are not treated as zero-point evidence for a point-difference tie-break.
- Teams are first grouped by total round-robin wins. Teams tied on wins are separated using the required sequence below, not win percentage or a set-difference-only shortcut.
- Played, won, lost, sets and differences include only eligible completed round-robin matches. Matrix PTS means total wins, not rally points. Win percentage is informational and does not decide rank.
- For a multi-team head-to-head tie, compare wins in matches between the tied teams. Unresolved subgroups proceed to the next criterion using the teams still tied at that stage; when only two remain tied, their head-to-head result is checked again. If their head-to-head cannot yet separate them, continue the numeric sequence provisionally using completed results.
- Differences are subtraction, not ratios: 8 sets won and 4 lost gives a set difference of +4, not 2.0. Scoring 200 rally points and conceding 180 gives a point difference of +20. A higher value, including a less-negative value, ranks ahead.
- The current placement evidence above comes directly from saved results and the same ranking calculation. Each tied win group shows only the criteria actually reached, with the compared values; later criteria cannot overturn an earlier resolved placing.
- Unresolved teams share a rank rather than being arbitrarily ranked by loaded order. If every numeric criterion is exhausted, a manual coin toss is required after pool play is complete; record its outcome through the manual playoff seed selections. Teams with no completed results show a dash.
- While round-robin games are scheduled or in progress, standings are provisional. They use completed results only and may change when remaining games are completed.
- All round-robin ranking displays use the same tie-break calculation. The final-placement table remains separate and is based on completed championship and placement matches.
- Calculated standings are not a command to overwrite saved playoff seeds or populate the playoff schedule. Review completed pool results before saving seed assignments.
- Apply the following criteria in order to teams tied in the round-robin standings. If any stage separates all tied teams, the tie-break is complete. If only two teams remain tied at any stage, their head-to-head result determines their placing.
- 1. Head to Head: compare the results between the tied teams.
- 2. Set Difference between tied teams: total sets won minus total sets lost in matches between those teams.
- 3. Set Difference in all matches played: total sets won minus total sets lost across the round-robin matches.
- 4. Point Difference between tied teams: total rally points scored minus total rally points conceded in matches between those teams.
- 5. Point Difference in all matches played: total rally points scored minus total rally points conceded across the round-robin matches.
- 6. Coin toss: use only if the preceding criteria have not resolved the tie.
- This sequence is now applied automatically through the numeric criteria. Set difference and point difference are subtraction, not ratios; rally-point difference is not the matrices’ PTS (total wins). A coin toss is always a manual tournament decision.
- Manage Playoff Seeds now calculates its reference standings using the same completed round-robin results and full numeric tie-break sequence as the standings displays.
- Previously saved seeds still take precedence over calculated defaults. Reset to Calculated changes the selections; Save & Populate Playoffs persists them and updates playoff participants. Existing seed assignments and playoff participants are not automatically overwritten by a standings refresh.
- The editable Tournament Tie-Breaker Logic remains explanatory text, not an executable rule engine. Editing that text does not change the implemented sequence documented here.
- If a tie remains after all numeric stages, conduct the required coin toss manually and assign the resulting order in the playoff seed selections. The public round-robin table continues to show a shared rank where the recorded scores cannot separate the teams.
- Within the selected division, quarterfinals are ordered by match number: the first receives seed 3 vs seed 6; the second receives seed 4 vs seed 5.
- Semifinals are ordered by time when both times exist, otherwise by match number: the first receives seed 2 vs seed 3; the second receives seed 1 vs seed 4. These are direct seed assignments, not quarterfinal winner assignments.
- Matches whose round contains 3rd or 5th are similarly ordered by time, otherwise match number. The first receives seeds 5 vs 6. The second has its team IDs cleared and receives the labels Loser Game 16 and Loser Game 17. The ordering, rather than the round label alone, controls these assignments.
- Review before saving: the seeding page’s help text conflicts with this assignment behavior, particularly semifinal numbering and the 3rd/4th participants. The inspected scoring handlers do not advance winners or resolve these placeholder labels automatically; check actual participants in Manage Matches.
- On Standings, the first completed match with round exactly Final (case-insensitive) determines Champion and Runner-Up. The first completed round containing 3rd or 4th determines third and fourth; one containing 5th or 6th determines fifth and sixth.
- These final-placement results compare recorded set-win totals first, falling back to the saved winner if the totals tie. The other participant becomes the lower placement. Check that each completed placement match has a valid winning team.
- Manage Winners controls separate manually chosen Champion, Runner-Up and 3rd Place entries for the home-page winner module; it does not change the calculated standings or saved playoff seeds.
- This page documents existing behavior only. No match results, tie-break calculations, seed assignments or placements are changed by opening it.
